No references to C Wright Mills?..."The Power Elite" laid out the overlapping interests between Dems and Repubs, and such a stranglehold on two-party politics precluded any turf for nurturing and growing a third party, except as a protest against the status quo. I mean, in my lifetime, the only third-party candidate with principle and platform was John Anderson, running on the National Unity Party in 1980, and he predictably was crushed by the Reagan-Carter voters.
I know this guy is way more of an expert at this than I’ll ever be at anything, but aren’t people afraid of the future right now? Seems like an iffy name for a political party.
